Charlottesville Waldorf School (CWS) opened its doors as Crossroads Waldorf School in September 1982, welcoming a class of twelve kindergarten-age children to a farmhouse at "The Crossroads" in southern Albemarle County. Today, the bustling school, currently located in Crozet, Virginia (with plans to move to a new location off Rio Road in Charlottesville in 2007) serves students from early childhood through eighth grade.
MoonStar Films worked with CWS to create a five part DVD entitled the Waldorf Experience to help educate parents about this enriching education. The following film, Beyond Waldorf, examines the impact a CWS education has had upon some of it's alumni.

Virginia cowboy Louis Wood's unique approach to horsemanship is based on trust and understanding and establishes a proper foundation for learning. This creates a partnership between horse and human that can be carried into any horsemanship discipline.
Louis' knowledge of the 'whole' horse and his innate ability to bridge the gap of communication between horse and rider have helped many people achieve a more complete level of horsemanship through his clinics worldwide.
Louis now has made these clinics available on a 145 minute DVD that shares his wisdom, insights, and profound vision.
If you are serious about horsemanship then we invite you to take a few moments to watch the following trailer of the Building Trust Through Leadership DVD.

The Charlottesville Waldorf Foundation has embarked on a journey that both fits and transcends its unique educational mission. By building "The Greenest School in America," the Foundation represents a natural, yet significant expansion of the environmentally-conscious Waldorf philosophy. This process is about more than building a school. It is about building a green movement that will serve as a national model for fiscally responsible sustainable building, and set an example not only for schools but for corporations and individuals as well.
MoonStar Films and the Charlottesville Waldorf Foundation partnered to create The Waldorf Experience DVD. Seed for Change is just one of many films created in this DVD. WORKPLACE RELATIONSHIPS
The unique relationship between horse and rider offers many opportunities for people to learn insights which can have meaning beyond one's relationship with the horse.
Since the very beginning of Louis Wood's horsemanship clinics, many of his clients have indicated that utilizing the same principles louis uses with his horses could apply to personal and work relationships as well. With the encouragement and support of these clients, Mountainview Ranch began to offer people the chance to participate in personal and professional development programs called the "Communication Series".
Utilizing a 1-3 day format of working a horse in a round pen environment combined with periods of group discussions, and hosted by a professional co-facilitator, this clinic uses horse methodology to address a diverse variety of issues. These include leadership, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal effectiveness as they apply to one's work and personal lives. These clinics offer success as a complete workshop, or add success to an existing program format.
Whether you are interested in a staff retreat, an interpersonal learning experience, or a unique alternative to traditional leadership development courses,Mountainview Ranch can help design a workshop to best fit your particular needs.
The facilities at Mountainview Ranch offer breathtaking views and a relaxed ranch environment but the clinics can be offered at a location of your choice.
If you are interested in more information on the "Communication Series" of clinics for yourself, business or workgroup, please contact John Lord at (540) 456-6073 or email johnlord@ntelos.net
